Sharjah Architecture Triennial

Platform that connects architects with clients globally

Project of Platform that connects architects with clients globally

Challenge

DAAS needed a lightweight, authoritative online presence for DAAS in Sharjah that:

  • communicates a complex programme (pedagogy, participants, public program) clearly to practitioners and institutions;
  • supports event schedules, participant profiles, public program listings, and partner information;
  • launches on a tight delivery schedule in time for the Sharjah Architecture Triennial while remaining robust and easy to update for stakeholders.

Solution

Built a focused, content-first platform that presents the program narrative, participant roster, and public program clearly while remaining fully editable by the curatorial team. Key design principles: clarity of information architecture, minimal UI to foreground texts and media, scalable content sections for case studies/participants/public program, and an admin-friendly CMS workflow so non-technical staff can update sessions and participant entries without developer help. The platform demonstrates the live layout and structure delivered.

Execution (what we delivered)

  • Discovery & strategy: Mapped audiences (fellows, curators, researchers, public visitors, institutional partners) and prioritized content flows: About → Participants → Public Program → Contact.
  • Information architecture: Built modular pages for participant profiles, event/program listings, and an About page that supports long-form program descriptions and calls to action for applicants/partners.
  • Front-end & CMS: Implemented a performant static/ISR site (Next.js or equivalent) with a headless CMS so curators can publish participant bios, program updates, and resources without developer intervention.
  • Design: Was fully done by Olfa farhat who was also a participant in the program.
  • & launch: Cross-device QA, accessibility basics, working contact/registration flows, and a deployment pipeline for timely iteration during the Triennial.

Results

  • Clear program presentation: Visitors can quickly understand DAAS’s aims, structure, and dates (Winter/Spring/Fall sessions), and locate participant and public-program information.
  • Editorial autonomy: The headless CMS enables the DAAS team to add or edit participant profiles, public program entries, and news without developer support.
  • Fast, reliable delivery: The temporary demo was deployed and staged for the Sharjah Architecture Triennial launch, enabling live updates during the program.
